Demerrius Slocum has made significant strides in the realm of Emergency Medical Services and community support since joining the Louisiana Rural Ambulance Alliance (LRAA) in 2023 as a full-time Asset Manager and Logistics Deputy Chief. With a foundation built on six years of dedicated service as a Paramedic for East Baton Rouge EMS (EBREMS), Slocum distinguished himself by becoming a member of specialized units, including the EBREMS SWAT Team and EMS Bike Team. His exceptional leadership abilities were recognized in 2017 when he was named crew chief and awarded a prestigious public service accolade, solidifying his reputation as a committed and effective first responder.

Beyond his contributions to emergency services, Slocum gained recognition on a national scale as a featured Paramedic on A&E’s reality show "Nightwatch Nation," where he showcased the intense and rewarding nature of working in emergency medical response. His passion for fitness and health is evident in his spare time pursuits, where he owns and operates a gym and competes as a professional powerlifter. His competitive spirit has taken him to both national and international platforms, earning him multiple awards and accolades in the powerlifting community.

Slocum is not only a dedicated professional but also a mentor, actively coaching the LSU powerlifting team. He balances his rigorous career and competitive endeavors with family life, cherishing time spent with his daughter.
